The President of KYDS, Ray Banks, has once again presented the President’s Highest Achiever Award – after the Society’s recent production of Seussical Junior.
This time, the award went to Cheyenne, who played one of the Wickersham Brothers. Ray said “the award is presented to the performer who, in my opinion, has achieved most during the rehearsals for the show.” |
“People who catch my eye are those who find it difficult to get into their part at the beginning. Sometimes it is very hard to fully understand the nature of the character you have been asked to play, so it takes a lot of hard work and research to get ‘into’ your part.
Cheyenne found it difficult to really portray a monkey who speaks and dances from the beginning. She found mastering the dance routines difficult too.
By the time the show went live, Cheyenne had mastered the part and was one of the best in that particular group. By the time of the first performance, Cheyenne had become my ‘highest achiever’.”
