Without the hard work our volunteers put into our charity, KYDS simply would not exist.
We recognise that volunteers are our greatest asset, which is why we work hard to make sure they are happy and getting the most out of their experience with us as possible.
As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills and meet new people, whilst being involved in a fantastic community organisation.
What could you help with?
Creatives
Our creatives work with our youth members to build their skills and stage award-winning productions every year.
We are looking for people with skills in acting, singing, music and dance to pass on to our youth members.
We would welcome people both with and without experience. Training is available for those able to make the necessary commitment.
Administration
A huge amount of work goes into planning, organising, promoting and delivering our events and activities.
We are looking for people interested in organising fundraising events, planning trips for our youth members and helping us spread the word in print, press and online marketing.
Behind the scenes
There’s lots to do to make our productions successful, such as set design and construction, costume making and roles backstage and on our technical team. We also need drivers to help us transport our scenery and help transport elderly people to our productions.
If you have a skill such as DIY, sewing, gardening or painting, we want to hear from you!

Being a KYDS Volunteer is a great way to meet new people. We regularly organise social events for our volunteers to socialise informally.
