Award winning
Since 2009 we’ve been staging award-winning productions in and near Tiptree, Essex

What we do

Our experienced team of volunteers run workshops and rehearsals in acting, singing and dance for young people. By taking part, our youth members develop valuable skills which will help them in later life, such as confidence, teamwork, leadership, responsibility and communication.

Most of our work is towards preparing two productions each year, one in the summer and one in the autumn. Following a huge amount of work, our high-quality shows are performed to the public. We keep our tickets affordable for the local public and also invite members of local care homes to come and watch for free. By doing this, we hope to show what young people can really achieve, whilst fostering community spirit by creating fantastic community events.

Our Mission

To provide young people with valuable skills they can use in later life through performing arts workshops and activities, whilst giving the local community access to high quality performing arts productions.

Our Story

KYDS was founded in 2009 with the aim of giving young people in Tiptree and the surrounding areas the opportunity to get involved in the performing arts.

It all began with our first production, The Dracula Spectacula, which was a huge success. Since then, we’ve grown considerably in terms of both quality and the number of people we benefit.

In November 2014, we became a registered charity to help support our continued growth. We are delighted that so many members of the local community have recognised the benefits we offer and decided to support us going into the future.
