Join Us

KYDS Youth Drama Society is a thriving community group, with a very friendly atmosphere. If you are interested in having fun and making new friends, whilst learning how to perform on stage, then you should consider joining us.

Youth Membership
KYDS youth members are 11 to 18 years old. As a youth member of the society, you will be given the opportunity to audition for parts in our productions, as well as being given the opportunity to be involved in other aspects of productions such as backstage, technical and publicity.

Why Join?
By joining KYDS, you will:

  • Be given the opportunity to be involved in all of our production - improving both your ability on stage as well as your confidence  (whist having loads of fun at the same time!)
  • Meet new people and make friends
  • Attend our social events and trips (additional costs may apply)
  • Get priority ticket booking for all our shows
  • Become a part of the KYDS team!

What requirements are there?
KYDS is not a drama school, but rather an amatuer society. This means that we don't have any requirements, so you can join regardless of your previous experience or ability.

More information
If you would like to join us, or have any more questions about being a youth member of KYDS, then please contact us. We hope to hear from you very soon...

Volunteer with us!

KYDS is always looking for  volunteers, who are willing to assist with the running of the society. This could be a relatively small role such as handing out fliers for a production, or a more active role such as directing your own production!

Do I need any experience?
You don't need  any experience to volunteer with KYDS, just an interest in drama and a bit of spare time!

What's in it for me?
Volunteering with KYDS is great fun and you'll meet lots of different people in the community. Not only that, but volunteering is great experience and will look good on your CV, especially if you are interested in working with children.

As a KYDS volunteer, we will discuss your volunteering with you regularly and offer your any advice or support you may need.

Child Protection
We are committed to protecting the children involved in the society. As a volunteer you will need to read and agree to our Child Protection Policy and depending on your role, we may require you to complete a CRB Check.
